Our Commitment

"A company that protects people and property has a responsibility to protect the environment those people live in."

Safeport Security Services Limited was founded in Vieux-Fort, Saint Lucia in 2016 with a single conviction: that accountability, discipline, and genuine care for the people we serve are not optional — they are the foundation of everything we do.

Ten years of operation across Saint Lucia and the Eastern Caribbean have deepened that conviction. We have come to understand that protecting what matters most does not end at a client's gate or a building's perimeter. It extends to the streets, the shorelines, the schools, and the natural spaces that define life in Saint Lucia.

Safeport Green is our formal commitment to that broader responsibility. It is not a marketing exercise. It is a documented, actionable programme through which Safeport Security Services Limited contributes to the environmental health and cleanliness of the island we are proud to call home.

Ramsar Wetland Stewardship

Private Land. Public Responsibility.

Safeport Security Services Limited is the registered private owner of land at Savannes Bay, Micoud — adjacent to the Savannes Bay Ramsar Wetland of International Importance (Ramsar Site No. 1171, designated 19 February 2002).

Savannes Bay is one of only two Ramsar-designated wetlands in Saint Lucia. It encompasses an extraordinary ecosystem of mangrove forest, seagrass beds, and coastal habitat that supports diverse bird and marine life of international significance.

We did not acquire this land to develop it against nature. We acquired it to protect it with purpose.

Our privately owned land at Savannes Bay is being managed in accordance with conservation principles aligned with the Ramsar Convention's wise use framework. We are committed to working with the Saint Lucia National Trust, the relevant government authorities, and the Ramsar Convention Secretariat to ensure that our presence at this site contributes to — and never detracts from — its ecological health and international conservation standing.

What We Are Doing

Community Clean-Up Programme

Safeport is committed to organising and sponsoring community clean-up events across Saint Lucia, with a particular focus on coastal areas, mangrove edges, and school communities. Our founding initiative brought together local schoolchildren and community members at Savannes Bay — the first of many documented environmental actions we are committed to carrying out and publishing here.

Coastal and Wetland Awareness

Saint Lucia is home to internationally recognised wetlands whose ecological value extends far beyond our borders. Safeport is committed to raising awareness of these natural assets — their importance, their fragility, and the shared responsibility we all carry as Saint Lucians to protect them.

The Safeport Green Grant

We believe that every Saint Lucian who cares about a cleaner, greener island deserves support — regardless of whether they lead a registered NGO or simply a group of neighbours with a plan. Our grant programme supports grassroots environmental action across the island. Learn more below.

Our land management practices are guided by the Ramsar Convention's wise use principles, and we actively seek guidance from the relevant national and international bodies on conservation best practice.
